This afternoon I visited the John Lennon art exhibit at the Westfield Topanga mall in Canoga Park. It is set up in a gallery space just outside the upper level of the new Neiman Marcus store. At about 3 p.m., when I visited, there was a steady stream of people going in at out, but it wasn't too crowded to be able to get a good look at all the pieces. This was my first time seeing a full collection of John Lennon's artwork and I enjoyed it. Most of the items were limited editions signed by Yoko Ono and included John Lennon's chop (stamp). However, there were a few limited edition pieces from the Bag One portfolio, which include his original signature. The exhibit also includes a set of colorful pieces from John Lennon's Real Love portfolio of drawings that he did for his son Sean. These images can also be found in the book Real Love: The Drawings for Sean. All of the items are for sale. The prices for most of the unframed pieces ranged from $600 to $7,000 with the option to pay an additional amount to purchase the item framed. Although items from the Bag One portfolio were listed for as high as $15,000 on the price list that was provided. They were also selling other items such as John Lennon t-shirts, and the exhibit color catalog was available for $40.
