Artwork by Anthony Quinn on Exhibit in Boston and Texas
A public exhibition of the artwork of Anthony Quinn opened today at the InterContinental Hotel in Boston. According to the Anthony Quinn Foundation: "... the exhibition brings art into the public realm and celebrates the global community and human spirit through Anthony Quinn's Monumental Works created in 1991 along with additional sculpture. The exhibition is a realization of a goal created by Anthony Quinn Foundation (AQF), to make artwork more prominent by making it part of the everyday experience (outside the walls of museums)." The exhibit will be on display through June 2008.
Anthony Quinn: "A Lifetime of Creating and Collecting Art" is currently on display at the J. Wayne Stark Gallery at Texas A&M University. According to the University: "In this exhibition there are over ninety works of art and artifacts that are being loaned to the Galleries, representing the culmination of five years of work by the Anthony Quinn Trust cataloguing Anthony Quinn's private collection. He collected over 100 pieces of art that provoked and aroused him throughout the different periods of his life." The exhibit includes sketchbooks and paintings that were created by the Mr. Quinn during the latter part of his life. This exhibit continues through March 9, 2008.
