Brian Eno: 77 Million Paintings

77 Million Paintings, an installation by musician, composer, producer, singer Brian Eno is currently on exhibit at University Art Museum at California State University Long Beach.

According to the gallery:

"Using sophisticated computer software and audio boom boxes, this project features constantly changing images and musical compositions which challenge the notion that the artist must be in control. Eno’s input simply sets the trajectory for the work to evolve into patterns that have the potential for surprising him as well as the audience."

77 Million Paintings, which Eno describes as Generative Art, has been presented at venues around the world since 2006.

Brian Eno studied art prior to beginning his music career with glam rock band Roxy Music in 1971. He later collaborated with internationally known musicians such as U2, Coldplay and David Bowie.
