The Heritage Auctions 2013 March 30 Entertainment & Music Memorabilia Signature Auction includes original paintings by legendary jazz musician Miles Davis and actor Glenn Ford.

The Miles Davis painting is an original watercolor titled “Birth”. It is signed in the upper left corner and includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Bag One Arts. Miles Davis turned to artwork late in his life after dealing with an illness. He is said to have created artwork obsessively, 12 to14 hours a day, painting and drawing with felt pens. However, he said it was merely a hobby and it helped him relax.

The Glenn Ford painting is titled “Reflection of a Teahouse”. This painting hung in the living room of Glenn Ford’s Beverly Hills Home. It comes with a “Letter of Provenance” signed by Peter Ford, Glenn Ford’s son. Glenn Ford only painted about 20 works in his lifetime and two of these were gifted to friends, according to the description of a previous auction of a Glenn Ford painting.

In addition to the items described here, the auction features items of Marlon Brando, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and the Beatles, including a Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover signed by all four Beatles.
