Opium, Painting by Bob Dylan
The Asia Series, paintings by celebrated singer and songwriter Bob Dylan will be exhibited at Gagosian Gallery in New York. According to the New York Times, the paintings are works that Dylan created on trips to Japan, China, Vietnam and South Korea. They are described as “firsthand depictions of people, street scenes, architecture and landscape”. The exhibition opens September 20, 2011 and continues through October 22, 1011.
The Asia Series publication is also available for purchase at the gallery. The 100 page, fully illustrated book includes text by Richard Prince and an interview with John Elderfield and Bob Dylan.
