In his short life, legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix was also a visual artist. The cover of his latest posthumous music compilation, Valleys Of Neptune, released last year, includes images of a painting of the same name by Jimi Hendrix. The painting is also used for the cover art of the single, Valleys Of Neptune, and in the music video. Sony Legacy Recordings says that the album is compiled of 12 fully realized studio recordings, and more than 60 minutes of music never commercially available.

A limited edition Giclee of Valleys Neptune, hand signed by by Jimi Hindrix’s sister Janie Hendrix, is available at Limelight Agency. Danny Stern of Limelight says, “To get a clear view of how connected his paintings were to the same vision of his own musical universe, all one has to do is watch the recent music video for Valleys of Neptune. The video has used this great painting as a focal point, and much like the music, it lifts and transports the viewer.”
