Sean Connery by Barbara Carrera
Nicaraguan-born actress and former model Barbara Carrera began experimenting with art as a child. According to an article at go-star.com, “I dabbled in watercolors back then,” she said, “and I was always drawing faces, but I was committed to learning the piano so I would only draw or paint as a lark.” Barbara Carrera has had several exhibitions of her artwork, including a 2-month exhibition of her Hollywood Legends Series at the Hollywood Entertainment Museum in 2002. In her Hollywood Legends Series she painted actors she has worked with, including Sean Connery, with whom she co-starred in the James Bond film, Never Say Never Again, as well as Bette Davis, Paul Newman, and others.

Her latest collection, Journey: An Odyssey, she says was inspired by her travels around the world and the many beautiful and interesting faces she saw. She says at her website, “Some of the faces were etched on my mind waiting to go on canvas while others were taken from photographs I saw that made an impression on me. Others were created from my imagination.”
